The National Kite Festival & Competition is a mega event organized by the Kite Sri Lanka Organization during the kite season each year. The event is a platform for thousands of local and foreign kite lovers to enjoy kite flying by participating in number of kite related events and competitions. The Kite Festival is a fun event that celebrates the artistic abilities of the participants and Sri Lankan national unity more widely. There are various kite competitions including the longest kite, the best kite made solely from national resources, most innovative kite and the number one fighting kite! Everyone can enjoy the festival without contesting for any competition. It will be an interactive day filled with kite camps, magic displays, face painting, fun games, DJ, films and music. Sri Lanka hosts two kite festivals annually, one in Galle Face Green and the other at the Negombo Beach Park.
